ISO is the setting which allows a certain amount of light to be exposed to the light sensor. The numbers for ISO double from the number 100- 3200. The standard ISO settings begin at 100, then go to 200, 400, 800, 1600 and finish at 3200. The higher ISO number is used for darker situations and a lower ISO number is used when you are shooting outside on a sunny day.
