Molly Reynolds

Bill Armstrong is a street photographer who is based in New York. He is well known for his blurred and vibrant images. They usually contain a figure of someone that has been purposely placed out of focus and enhances with one or two colours to create a time frame, mood, emotion, personality and sense of personal identity without visually seeing the model's facial expression or appearance. I personally really like his photographs. If I were to use Bill Armstrong as inspiration for an image I would re-create, I would take an out of focus image of one of my friends and edit it in photoshop to tint the whole image one colour then use the other tools such as exposure, brightness, black point and highlights to create a larger tonal range within the figure and background. I would also create a deep depth of field even though it's out of focus so that the figure is slightly more in focus than the background.
